Based on Health and Safety Executive guidance, this course equips staff to act safely and effectively in emergencies. It includes:
- Role of a first aider, hygiene, and record-keeping
- Assessing situations and managing unconscious casualties
- CPR and AED use
- Treating choking, bleeding, shock, seizures, and minor injuries
- DRABC principles, airway and breathing management, recovery position
- Employer responsibilities for first aid provision
Emergency first aid at work for forestry
This course gives staff the skills to respond effectively to workplace emergencies in forestry settings. It covers:
- role of a first aider and safe assessment
- CPR and AED use
- treatment for unconscious casualties, choking, bleeding, shock, and minor injuries
- managing life-threatening bleeding, crush injuries, head and spinal trauma
- environmental risks such as heat, cold, and Lyme disease
Learners also gain knowledge of employer responsibilities, hazard recognition, and record-keeping.
