Are you interested in becoming a Job Coach

Cheshire East runs a Supported Internship Programme in partnership with seven education providers, including Colleges, Schools and Training Providers. The role of the Job Coach is key to the success of the programme.

The main goal of this programme is to support young people between the age of 16-24 with a learning disability and/or autism to progress into paid work with the support from a Job Coach.

The Job Coach works with a small caseload of interns, and their role is to predominantly support the intern in the following ways:

  • learning new tasks
  • supporting the development of communication
  • increasing confidence and independence
  • supporting young people to travel independently
  • Monitoring the progress of young people, ensuring support fades at the right time

If you are looking for a new challenge and want to make a huge difference to the lives of young people with a disability, this could be the role for you. You will work with these young people, their family, and the education provider from the beginning of the Supported Internship journey, right through to seeing these young people progress into paid work. What could be more rewarding!

Job Coaches usually work on a term time basis. Part time and fulltime hours available.
