Why work within care?

At Cheshire East Council we believe everybody can make a difference. Our Care Workers play an important role in meeting the social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of our service users to empower them to live as independently as possible.

Working in care means you can make a real difference to people’s lives, positively impacting Cheshire East residents every day by supporting their needs.

By working in a support environment rather than a hospital, you can build strong, lasting relationships with service users. There’s no better feeling than seeing someone smile or hearing them say thank you. Whether you're helping them take medication correctly or making sure they get to a doctor's appointment on time, knowing you've done your best for them provides a sense of job satisfaction that few other professions can offer.

The care sector also helps you develop a wide range of skills and experience, setting you up for a successful and rewarding career.

Grade 5 Reablement Workers may also use the following clinical skills:

  • taking a pulse
  • taking a blood pressure reading
  • counting respiratory rate
  • measuring urine output
  • assessing hydration level
  • assessing mental state

Don’t just take our word for it. Speak to one of our Care4CE team today to find out what a career in care with Cheshire East can offer you!
