We have vacancies across our services in a wide range of careers and you can start any time of the year.

Being an apprentice with the Council you really do get the best of both worlds. You can study for a new qualification and at the same time develop your career and experience of work. We look at all levels of qualifications across all areas of the Council.

The apprentice scheme

The A* Apprenticeship Scheme, will provide you with work-based training and education.

A* Apprentice receive age appropriate national minimum wage.

Subject to suitable vacancies arising positions potentially exist in all Council services.

Apprentices are given temporary contracts for a 37 hour week and an apprenticeship wage that allows time every week for you to study for a qualification. Extra tuition is available for apprentices in skills such as public speaking and presentation skills.
