Wrenbury Lift Bridge, Wrenbury

Following a road traffic collision, the Canal & River Trust, has closed Wrenbury Lift Bridge for safety reasons.

An inspection of the bridge has found it to be unsafe for vehicles and will remain closed while works are carried out to make it safe. The Canal & River Trust has advised that these works are expected to be completed by Friday 30 October 2026.

We understand this emergency closure may raise concerns for residents and businesses. Pedestrian access has been maintained, and local businesses remain open and accessible throughout the closure.  'Businesses Open as Usual' signage has been put in place to help direct customers to local businesses.

A signed diversion route is in place, and road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
