A534 Haslington Bypass
We are carrying out repairs to the Bradeley Hall Road bridge, which crosses the A534 Haslington Bypass.

When is it happening
Following a number of bridge strikes, the bridge carrying Bradeley Hall Road over the A534 Haslington Bypass has sustained damage to the concrete beams that support the bridge deck and road above.
The works to repair the bridge will start on Monday 16 November 2026 and are expected to take 10 nights to complete, working between 8pm and 5am, with no overnight weekend working.
During the works a full road closure from Crewe Green roundabout to Wheelock Heath roundabout will be in place. Access across the bridge for residents of Bradeley Hall Farm will be maintained throughout the works.
We understand there is no right time to undertake these type of works, but they have been planned to minimise disruption to residents and businesses.
Changes to dates
The dates for these works may change and we may not be able to give you an exact date. This means works may be delayed or moved at short notice.
Signs will be placed on site to tell you:
- when the road will be closed
- the dates and times of the works
- how long the works are expected to last
Letters to residents and businesses
We will send a letter to all affected properties before the works begin.
It is important to know that:
- the letter does not allow access through the road closure
- access may be restricted for safety reasons
If you have special access needs, speak to the site supervisor as soon as possible.
Local businesses will remain open as normal.
Road closures and diversion routes
We need to close roads to keep both the public and our workforce safe. During the works:
- signed diversion routes will be in place
- follow the diversion signs
- find full diversion details on the roadworks and travel disruption page
- Access to properties on Clay Lane and Moston Lane will be maintained via Wheelock Heath roundabout only,
Bus companies are aware of the works. Services may run on different routes or timetables, so check the operator’s website.
Waste collection services will not be affected and we are liaising with the waste management team to ensure waste collections are carried out.
