Stewart Street, Crewe

Our footway improvement and road resurfacing works on Stewart Street, between Alton Street and Langley Drive, have now been completed.

The scheme included footway improvements, carriageway resurfacing and the renewal of road markings along Stewart Street.

The works were carried out in phases, helping to improve both the road surface and footways for residents, pedestrians and road users.

We thank local residents, businesses and road users for their patience and understanding while these essential improvements were carried out.

Speed cushion reinstatement works

We will be reinstating the speed cushions along Stewart Street, starting on Monday 26 October until Wednesday 28 October 2026.

To allow for the new cushions to be installed safely, a road closure will be in place between 8:00am and 6:00pm.

Speed cushions are installed after resurfacing works are completed to allow the new road surface to fully cure and settle. This ensures a strong, durable bond, when the additional layers of tarmac needed to form the cushions are applied.
