Reeds Bridge, B5470 Macclesfield Road

Following a road traffic collision, the north parapet of Reeds Bridge has suffered extensive damage.

What is happening

We have installed temporary concrete barriers on the bridge, which have reduced the width of the carriageway to a single lane. To manage traffic safely, temporary traffic signals have been installed and will remain in place until repairs can be carried out.

Works to repair the bridge will start on Monday 2 November 2026 and will take approximately 21 days to complete.  Due to the nature of the works a full road closure will be in place, with a fully signed diversion route in operation.

We appreciate any closure of this route may cause disruption, but works have been planned to minimise this for local road users.
