About the Municipal Buildings

The Municipal Buildings contains:

  • The Council Chamber
  • The Mayor's Reception Room
  • Committee Rooms.
  • Staff Offices
  • Covered cycle parking in rear courtyard

The Council Chamber is used for Council meetings and is available to book for Wedding Ceremonies and other events. In addition there are three Committee rooms available for hire.

To enquire about booking any of the rooms, Email: cebookings@cheshireeast.gov.uk

Enquiries for out of hours access must also be made to Assets Management (during normal working hours).

Guest Wi-Fi is available.

Access to the building

Access to the building is via a large front entrance across from Municipal Square, Earle Street. There is a platform lift making the entrance pushchair and wheelchair friendly.

Regrettably, the building cannot accommodate mobility scooters. In the rare event that the front-entrance platform lift fails and the fire alarm sounds there is no way to safely remove the scooter. There is a manual wheelchair available on site for use upon request.

Visitors to the First Floor (Council Chambers, Committee Suites East and West, the Mayors Reception Room and the Mayors Parlour) should also be aware that in the event of a fire alarm, when lifts return to the ground, they will need to be assisted out of the building by Evac-Chair if they are unable to navigate the stairs. Please flag the potential need for assistance to the service/room hirer at the time of booking/confirmation.
