Springfield School, Crewe - proposed expansion
Due to increasing level of complexities being included in Education, Health and Care Plans the demand for Special School Places is at an all-time high. The Council has undertaken and published its Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and or Disabilities Joint Strategy and the Sufficiency Statement for Children and Young people with Special Educational Needs and or Disabilities.
The Councils Sufficiency Statement and 3-year plan has informed the need for additional specialist places in the South of the Borough. An opportunity to provide for these additional placements at Springfield School in Crewe has been identified at what is an OFSTED Outstanding rated school.
If the proposal goes ahead, an additional 80 places will be provided at Springfield Special School, taking it from 170 to 250 places.
Before feeding back your views, please refer to the statutory proposal document which provides further information regarding this proposal.
