Pikemere Primary School- Proposed Resource Provision

There is a growing need across Cheshire East for more specialist resource provision places and currently due to the lack of places some children are being educated in schools outside of Cheshire East. This lack of provision means that the children are spending time travelling to and from school at a significant cost to the local authority.

In November 2020 Cheshire East asked schools if they were interested in creating a funded resource provision on their schools. Pikemere Primary School has always prided itself on its offer for children with  SEND needs. Due to the current level of support the school offers and the involvement in the  EYFS Emotionally Healthy Schools project the school is keen to provide for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health.

If the proposal goes ahead, 7 places will be offered to children with a primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Health across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 which have a Education Health Care Plan  and the resource provision at Pikemere Primary is named as their preferred provision. The allocation of a place in the resource provision will be given by the local authority  SEN panel.
