2020-21 Capital Funding - bids for funding from school condition allocation grant.
Deadline for submission of bids has been extended to 3 July 2020. (maintained establishments only)
The Department for Education (DfE) have, on the 15 April 2020, published the school condition allocation grant for the financial year 2020-21, the allocation reflects the schools moving to a new responsible body, opening or closing.
Further to the schools bulletin article of the 16 March 2020, please note that due to the impact of COVID-19 we are now extending the deadline for submission of bids to Friday 3 July 2020 .
This will give all establishments a longer opportunity to provide the information required in order to submit a Bid. It is anticipated that establishments will be informed of the outcome of their bids by mid September 2020, following the Council’s internal approval processes.
The Bidding round is open and the deadline for submission of bids has been extended until 3 July 2020. In line with the DfE guidance, to ensure that Schools maintain a Safe, Warm and Dry environment for our pupils to attend, once all bids have been received from eligible establishments, a vetting process will take place to assess all submissions against the categories of allocation.
These categories are:-
- Poor building condition
- Health and Safety
- Building compliance
- Energy efficiency
Examples of schemes could include:
Flat roof replacement - significant deterioration, subject to leaking or severe water penetration and;
Replacement Boiler - subject to persistent breakdown and permanent failure probable
Electrical rewiring - tests confirm major failure probable
The deadline for submissions of bids is Friday 3 July 2020 at 5pm. It is anticipated that establishments will be informed of the outcome of their bids by mid September 2020, following the Council's internal approval processes.
