Holiday activity fund
Applications will open soon to enrol children and young people in free holiday activities over the winter holiday period
We are working with local schools, voluntary and community organisations, and childcare providers to provide free activity places as part the winter HAF programme. The free places are funded by the Department for Education as part of the government’s expanded Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme being delivered across Cheshire East. This programme has already successfully run in Cheshire East during the 2021 Easter and Summer holidays. For further information about this holiday activity programme visit this government website.
The holiday scheme provides enjoyable activities and nutritious meals for primary and secondary school aged children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
Children will be able to access free activity sessions during the winter school holidays, including specific provisions available for children with SEND or additional needs. The sessions will include a variety of fun activities, including sports, music, arts and other exciting opportunities to learn and develop skills, alongside a nutritious meal each day.
You will soon be able to view the activities being offered on our Family Information Service page.
