Living together
According to Government figures there are now over two million couples living together in England and Wales. Couples who live together are now given legal protection in some areas, however they and their families have fewer rights and responsibilities than if they are married or in a civil partnership.
The Ministry of Justice and the voluntary organisation One Plus One offer advice to make both opposite and same sex couples aware of their legal status and provide them with advice as to how they can protect themselves and their families.
