SEND  Team and Educational Psychologist Service receive staffing boost

In recent weeks, the Cheshire East Council  SEND Team and the Education Psychologist Service have both recruited additional staff to focus on statutory assessments that are either overdue or likely to be overdue.

The changes follow from last year’s local area SEND inspection and the action plan to address the quality and timeliness of education health and care plans.

As part of the improvement plans, the  SEND Team’s duties have been re-prioritised with a focus on of writing, amending and finalising plans.  As a result, the team may not be able to attend all meetings at schools.  This is a temporary measure and the team hope to be back to ‘business as usual’ within 10 weeks.

Anyone with significant concerns about the attendance of a 0-25  SEND Officer at a meeting, please contact Tracey Beardmore-Evans ( SEND Service Manager) or Karen Connerney ( SEND Team Leader) to discuss further at SENTeamEast@cheshireeast.gov.uk
