Great feedback from our first Planning your Future event

Cheshire East held the first Planning your Future event for young people and parent/ carers on the 4 July – American Independence day.

The event was jointly organised and funded by Cheshire East Council and Cheshire East Parent Carer Forum.  The day was aimed at young people, parent carers and professionals, with over 25 stands from a wide range of providers including:   colleges, social Care, education, independent living providers, health providers and employers.

In total 40+ families attended and some of the quotes below show how well received the event was.  We will be holding another event in 2020 and it will be bigger and better, so thank you to all who have shared your excellent ideas on how to improve the event.

“What a fabulous event. I have been worried sick what my daughter will do when she leaves in two years. I now have lots of info and feel positive for her future. Thank you so much. “

“Was good - It was good to meet faces behind agencies who help me and my family”

“I came not knowing if it was a waste of time. I am so glad I did. I didn’t know what my daughter would do when she leaves. Now I feel so much better knowing there are a lot of options”
