How the sensory inclusion service adapted during the pandemic
8 June 2021
The Cheshire East sensory inclusion service supports children and young people with hearing and/or visual difficulties and their families.
During the pandemic, like many services, the team had to adapt quickly to new ways of working to ensure that children, young people and their families continued to benefit from their help.
The team have put together this presentation (MS Powerpoint, 3.03MB) that gives you a flavour of how they have adapted over the last 12 months, including:
- Sharing stories and songs online with our pre-school children
- Providing support to ensure that children’s hearing aids were working
- Delivering online sessions; listening, auditory memory and comprehension activities for children with a hearing Impairment
- Continuing with cane training for safety in new areas
The team say: “We are proud of the support we have been able to give to the children, young people and families we work with during the pandemic.”
