Axis Academy - planning application 570 x 310

Axis Academy School - we want your views

A planning application has now been submitted for the new Social Emotional and Mental Health Free School in Crewe which will be known as ‘The Axis Academy School’. This will be a 40 place provision for 4-16 year old learners with a focus on learners with social, emotional and mental health needs.

The site was previously used for a primary school and the new build will include a two storey U shaped building with associated outdoor place and multi-use games area. As a free school, this new provision will be part of the East Cheshire Youth Achievement Trust which already runs The Fermain Academy in Macclesfield and has been judged by Ofsted as being outstanding provision.

The planning application is expected to be considered at the end of August with comments welcomed from any stakeholders up to the 28th August. Work continues between the Trust and Cheshire East Council in identifying learners for this new school which is expected to open towards the end of 2020.
