Tatton Park

A Christmas Trail Holly's Festive Feast 28 November - 03 January 2020

Holly the Hare needs your help, she’s been invited to a festive garden feast with Tatton Park’s other woodland friends, but she’s mislaid her invitation! Journey through the Gardens and help solve the puzzles to find her friends at their Christmas party.

Pick up your party pack complete with animal mask and a sweet treat and venture down woodland paths and forest floors with Holly while you look out for clues. Follow your nose to find Pat the jolly Gardener whose job it is to care for the gardens and wildlife. Pat’s keeping warm by the fire roasting chestnuts. Take a seat and snap your selfies with Holly and her wildlife friends around their spectacular festive table! Write your hopes for this festive season to place on our Wish Tree and add your magic touch to our Christmas craft collage.

  • Times: 10am - 4pm (last entry 3pm).
  • Prices: Entry to the mid-winter gardens this festive season is £8 an adult, £6 a child and free for National Trust members.
  • To experience the Christmas Trail, children's party packs are £2 each (one pack per child is recommended). Party packs can be purchased at the time of booking your garden tickets and include: An animal mask and colouring pencils. Your garden trail sheet and pencil. Candy cane sweet treat. Holly the Hare sticker. Your own wish tag to hang on Pat's Wish Tree

Gallery in the Gardens - Cheshire's Wonderful Wildlife 03 October 2020 - 12 February 2021

Visit Tatton Park Gardens and view the new Mid Cheshire Line poster artwork, created by local artist Nicky Thompson Follow a route to see all 12 poster designs. Areas included in the exhibition are the Walled Kitchen Garden, Charlotte's Gazebo, Dipping Pond, the Choragic Monument, Japanese Garden and Italian Terrace. There will also be a 24-page brochure accompanying the exhibition, written by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust, available free of charge.

Festive Afternoon Tea at the Gardener's Cottage 03 December - 03 January 2021

The former head Gardener’s Cottage, just inside the Stableyard, is the perfect location for a festive celebratory afternoon tea with family this Christmas. Enjoy a special christmas menu with handmade cakes and pastries, festive favourite finger sandwiches and a seasonal savoury tart.

Dunham Massey

A Peter Rabbit Winter Adventure Activity Trail at Dunham Massey from 05 December

Join Peter and his friends for some winter fun at Dunham Massey. Follow the trail and find the clues to help Peter get set for winter.

Christmas at Dunham Massey 03 December 2020 - 10 January 2021

Surround yourself with sparkle on an after-dark, illuminated trail which winds magically through Dunham Massey. Don’t forget to watch out for Father Christmas along the way.

Quarry Bank

A Peter Rabbit winter adventure activity trail at Quarry Bank 05 December 2020 - 03 January 2021

Join Peter Rabbit and friends to solve puzzles, get closer to nature and have your very own winter adventure on this activity trail starting in the Upper Garden. Family trail aimed at children aged between 3 and 9.

  • Price: Admission prices apply £10 an adult, £5 a child, family £25, family-1 adult £15. Activity Pack £2 each Purchase your activity trail for £2 from Visitor Reception and then head to the Upper Garden to complete your trail.

Lyme Park

A Peter Rabbit winter adventure activity trail at Lyme 05 December 2020 - 10 January 2021

Bring your little ones to experience the magic of a Peter Rabbit winter adventure activity trail around Lyme's garden. There will be nature-themed active challenges to try along the way, as well as a Peter Rabbit selfie station at the end of the trail where everyone can take a picture with their favourite storybook rabbit.

Gauntlet Birds of Prey Eagle and Vulture Park

Flying Display and Birds of Prey Passport Trail 18 December 2020 – 03 January 2020

The park is open throughout the Christmas holidays except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Each day there is a Vulture talk, a meet and greet session and two flying displays. Throughout the park we have a Birds of Prey Passport Trail (pick up a passport at the shop/café), where children can meet and feed our goats (purchase feed at the café/shop) and watch our cheeky Meerkats. In between the daily events you can take a walk around the park and see Owls, Eagles, Hawks, Falcons, Vultures and some of the more unusual residents like the Marabou Stork, Kookaburra and Caracara!

There’s a café, picnic area and picnic benches dotted throughout the park and a children’s play area in the shape of a large wooden fort – so you’ll never be short of things to do.
