Parenting Journey - Stop 5 (for 9-16 weeks old) 

26 February

1.15pm-2.45pm

A pathway of support and guidance for parents and expectant parents on your child's learning and development

This Stop (for babies 9 - 16 weeks) is delivered by Health Visitors and Family Service Workers. It is an opportunity for new parents to visit the Children’s Centre and meet other parents. The focus of this Stop is safety in the home and communicating with your baby. Invite letters will be sent to you. Please confirm with your children’s centre if you are unable to make that date

 A fun and active play session introducing "five a day" for your child's learning and development for 18-24 months

The focus of the session is weaning and communicating with your baby. Call the centre to book your place

Parenting Journey - Stop 2 (antenatal)

A pathway of support and guidance for parents and expectant parents on your child's learning and development

At this Stop Health Visitors and Family Service Workers provide support to expectant parents offering advice and information prior to baby’s birth

This is also an opportunity to look around the Children’s Centre. Invite letters are sent by health visitors. Please call the children centre if you are unable to make your session date

Here are details of some of our regular groups and what they have to offer;

Babies Together A weekly drop in group for babies. Relax, meet new friends and gain advice and information on relevant topics. Your baby will experience activities to stimulate their senses, this will help your baby to grow and develop
Baby Massage Book onto one of our Baby Massage courses and learn how to safely massage your baby with confidence.  Please call for further information
Cherubs A breastfeeding support group for parents both before and after baby is born
Development Checks You will receive an appointment from your Health Visitor for this session
Health Visitor drop in Have your baby/toddler weighed and get advice from Health Visitors and Family Service Workers
Sensory Room Lovely relaxing Sensory Room, suitable for babies, toddlers and children with additional needs. Ring or call into the centre reception to book an hour slot
Stay and Play A weekly drop-in session for children aged 0 to 4 years, to play inside or out.  Arts, crafts, singing songs, stories, plus a healthy snack are all on our menu!
Play Can Make A Difference

A 4 session course to help you, to help your child, to communicate. Advice on how to help your child develop their communication skills.  Ask in centre or call us for more information: 01270 371240

Parenting Journey

The journey consists of 12 appointment sessions, which you will be invited to by your Health Visitor or children centre, from pre-birth through to your child starting school. Each session includes information and guidance for you as a parent, including your child's development checks with a Health Visitor. Stop 6 is for babies 4-7 months where the session gives guidance by a Health Visitor on weaning for appropriately aged babies.  Please call the centre for more information and to book your place
