Free parking is available in the large car park opposite the library every day except Thursdays (market day) and Autumn Wakes Weekend.

Family rhymetime

Join us for half an hour of songs and rhymes on Saturday 26 January at 10.30am.

New opening hours

Please note that we are implementing new opening hours with effect from Monday 28 January. Our new hours will be:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm
  • Wednesday 9.00am - 7.00pm
  • Saturday 9.00am - 1.00pm
  • Sunday closed

Harry Potter night

On Thursday 7 February we have a Harry Potter free drop-in event from 3.30pm, with a treasure hunt and a quiz. You can even make a Harry Potter character bookmark. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Warm Home discount

On Wednesday 13 February, Jan Arnold from Age UK Cheshire will be here between 10.00 and 12.00 noon, to provide information and advice regarding the Warm Home discount.

Recycling craft workshop

On Monday 18 February at 2.00-3.00pm, Lisa from ANSA environmental services will be showing us how to make crafts from recyclable materials. Free family event; no need to book. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

LEGO Mindstorms EV3 workshop

On Tuesday 19 February at 2.00-3.30pm, learn how to build and code a robot and create a circuit to test your robotic skills. Suitbale for ages 8 years and over. Free; please book in advance. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

T-shirt painting

Put on some old clothes and join us on Thursday 21 February at 2.30-3.30pm and paint a t-shirt. £3.00 per child; please book in advance. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

LEGO stop motion animation

Make your own short animated LEGO movie on Friday 22 February at 2.00-4.00pm. Free; please book in advance. Suitable for ages 8 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Matt Buckingham workshop

On Saturday 23 February the author and illustrator of the Bright Stanley books will be hosting a drawing and story workshop at 10.30am. Free family event; no need to book. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Matt will also be signing and selling some of his books on the day.

IT Buddy

There is an IT Buddy available to help with computer basics, including email and browsing the internet. £2.50 per hour. Please contact the library for details and to book a place.

Monday

  • Book Lovers Group - 2.00-3.00pm - second Monday of the month. Share your love of reading, meet people and enjoy a drink and a chat
  • Reading Group - 7.00pm - monthly. Annual fee of around £10 per person. Contact Rowena at the library for details of the next meeting
  • Under 5s Storytime - 10.30-11.00am - Weekly in term time only. Join us for stories old and new! Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer

Tuesday

  • Baby Bounce - 2.00-2.30pm- weekly in term time only. Free. Suitable for babies from 0 to walking age only
  • Mini Builders - 10.30-11.00am - weekly during term time only. Free activity for preschool children using Duplo

Wednesday

  • LEGO Club - 3.30pm - weekly. Free, drop-in session
  • Sandbach Readers - 6.45-8.00pm - Meet first and third Wednesday of the month. New members welcome
  • Under 5s Rhymetime - 10.30-11.00 - weekly. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer

Friday

  • Let's Meet on a Friday - weekly - A range of activities each month, usually at 10.00-12 noon or 10.30-11.30am

Cheshire East Citizens Advice outreach service

Free drop-in service for information and advice on Wednesdays between 1.00pm and 4.00pm. (We start to give out number cards at 12.45, only four clients will be seen).

Macmillan Help Desk

There is a staffed help desk in the library on alternate Wednesday mornings.

Pilates

Pilates class in the library every Tuesday at 10.45-11.45am.

U3A

University of the Third Age advice desk is available on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, between 9.30am and 11.30am. The U3A Information Board is available inside the library building.
