On Tuesday 28 January find out more about our services for people affected by, or living with, dementia or memory loss at the It's Time to Talk event in the Civic Hall. Just call in between 11.00 and 2.00pm.
Harry Potter book night
On Tuesday 4 February at 6.00pm, we have a sorting, a quiz, crafts and readings from Harry Potter. Suitable for children aged 7 and over. Wizarding robes or Harry Potter fancy dress welcome. Free, but please book in advance as places are limited.
Temporary closure for staff training

On Wednesday 19 February at 10.00-11.30am, come and help build zoo animals and create a zoo scene in Lego for our half term special. £1.00 per child; please book in advance.
Meet the police
On Friday 21 February meet your local PCSOs. Call in between 10.00 and 12.00 noon and try on a police uniform, have your fingerprints taken and sit in a police car. Free; no need to book.
On Monday 16 March at 10.30-12.00 noon we have pirate songs, stories, games and crafts for pre-schoolers. £1.00 per person; please book in advance.
Ancestry taster sessions
The cost is £3.50 for an hour long one to one session. Please contact the library for details and to book a session.
Computer Buddy sessions
Basic computer skills sessions with an IT buddy are now available at the library at £2.50 per hour. This entitles you to an hour's free use of the computers after your tutored session to practice what you have learned. Please contact the library for more details.

Activities at Poynton Library
- Book Chat - 2.00-3.00pm - monthly on second Tuesday of each month. All welcome to our informal free book group, where we chat over a cup of tea or coffee. No need to book. Next date is 11 February. This month’s theme is ‘The Perfect Crime – why are thrillers leaving other books for dead?’
- Rhymetime - 2.00-2.30pm - weekly. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free; no need to book
- LEGO Club - 3.30-4.45pm - monthly, on first Thursday of each month. Free; no need to book. Suitable for children aged 4 years and over. Duplo available for younger siblings. Next date is 6 February
- Rhymetime - 10.30-11.00am - weekly. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer. Free; no need to book
