Laura Smith MP

On Friday 17 August Laura Smith MP will be in the library between 10.00am and 12.00 noon.

Mischief Maker short story competition

Create your own Mischief Maker character and write a short story about their naughtiest adventure in Beanoland, and you could win a fantastic prize. Deadline for entries is 8 September. Remember to put your contact details on your entry.

Mischievous story-making

On Thursday 23 August at 2.00-3.30pm we have a special event for children aged 6 and over. Please book in advance. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Drawing workshop

On Saturday 25 August at 11.00am the author and illustrator of Bright Stanley, Matt Buckingham, will be here with a free fun comic drawing workshop. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Nantwich Food Festival 2018

We have Glorious Food, Globulous Food storytimes at 11.00am and 2.30pm on Friday 31 August, and at 11.00am on Saturday 1 September. Enjoy stories, rhymes and crafts all involving food, some lovely, some horrid. There will be the opportunity to try an edible bug! Free events. Suitable for children under 10.

  • Young Writers - 4.00-4.45pm - alternate Mondays from 30th April 2018. Discover the magic of writing stories. Suitable for ages 12-18 years. Please book a place in advance. Next date is 20 August


  • French Conversation - 6.00-6.45pm - alternate Tuesdays. All welcome, just drop in. Free, refreshments available. Next date is 21 August
  • German Conversation with Nigel - 6.00-6.45pm - alternate Tuesdays. Free; no need to book. Next dates are 14 and 28 August
  • LEGO Club - 4.00-5.00pm - monthly. Meets on second Tuesday of each month. Free and open to all primary school age children, accompanied by an adult. Next date is 14 August on the theme of Beano. with prizes and certificates up for grabs in our LEGO Club competition!

Citizens Advice Bureau

The Cheshire East Citizens Advice Bureau now have an office on the first floor of the library. Drop-in sessions are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9.30am and 12.30pm. No appointment necessary. Advice line is 03444 111 444.

Jobcentre Plus staff will be on site to provide help with digital job search and online claims. Appointments only on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9.00-12.00 noon and 1.00-5.00pm. Please telephone 01270 538 155 to make an appointment.
