What's New?

May bank holidays

The library will be closed on Mondays 6 and 27 May for the spring and late May bank holidays.

Spring wreath craft session

Join us for our adult arts and crafts event on Tuesday 14 May at 2.30-4.30pm. Create a beautiful spring wreath to take home. Tickets £4.00; booking essential.

Mini Makers club

On Tuesday 28 May at 2.30-3.30pm we have a Scribblebot Mini Makers workshop. Create unique art work with the help of a scribblebot. Free; booking essential. Suitable for children aged 6 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Elmer Day crafts

On Friday 31 May at 2.30-3.30pm celebrate the 30th birthday of Elmer the patchwork elephant at our fun arts and craft event. 50p per craft. Please book as places are limited. Children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Learn how to search the internet

Get started with a free online course on using a computer, browsing the net, sending an email and finding work online with dedicated help from library staff. Course running on Friday 26 April and Thursday 25 April at 3.00-4.00pm. Booking essential.

New courses starting on Thursdays 2, 9, 16 and 23 May, or Fridays 3, 10, 17 and 24 May.

Ancestry family history sessions

On Fridays 26 April, and 3, 10, 17 and 24 May we are offering an introduction to the resources available to budding genealogists on Ancestry and Find My Past. Contact the library to book a slot from 2.30-3.30pm.

Monday

  • Storytime for under 5s - 2.30-3.00pm - weekly in term time only. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer

Tuesday

  • Book Lovers' Group - 5.30-6.30pm - monthly on the third Tuesday of every month. Refreshments available, suggested donation 50p. New members welcome. Next date is 14 May on the theme of short stories
  • IT Buddy - 10.00-11.00am - weekly. Please contact the library to book a place. £2.50 for one hour
  • LEGO Club - 4.00pm - monthly on the last Tuesday of every month. Drop-in; no need to book. Suitable for ages 2-12 years. Next dates are 30 April and 28 May
  • Under 5s rhymetime - 11.00-11.30am - weekly in term time only. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer

Friday

  • IT Buddy - various times available - weekly. Please contact the library to book a place. £2.50 for one hour. Next dates are 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 May

Saturday

  • LEGO Club - 10.00-11.00am - monthly on the last Saturday of every month. Suitable for ages 2-12 years. Next dates are 27 April and 25 May

  • Jobcentre and New Leaf drop-in sessions: On Tuesdays staff from Macclesfield Jobcentre will be on hand to offer IT and job search support. Further help to access skills, training and opportunities is available from New Leaf. Just call in between 1.00 and 3.00pm. Next dates are 30 April, and 7, 14, 21 and 28 May.
