What's New?

Doctor Who virtual reality experience

Attention all Doctor Who fans! We are hosting a very exciting BBC Virtual Reality experience! Doctor Who: The Runaway will be happening on Tuesday 18 June. The experience is approximately 20 minutes long, and you can drop in and have a go anytime between 3.00pm and 7.00pm, or book in advance. Suitable for anyone aged 13 years and over, and totally FREE! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Mini Makers club 

On Tuesday 18 June at 3.45-4.45pm bring LEGO characters to life in a short stop motion animation film. Free, but booking essential. Suitable for children aged 6 years and over.

Learn how to search the internet

Get started with a free online course on using a computer, browsing the net, sending an email and finding work online with dedicated help from library staff. Course running on Thursdays 20 and 27 June; or Fridays 21 and 28 June at 3.00-4.00pm. Booking essential.

Ancestry family history sessions

On Fridays 21 and 28 June we are offering an introduction to the resources available to budding genealogists on Ancestry and Find My Past. Contact the library to book a slot from 2.30-3.30pm.

Nutritional workshop

On Thursday 4 July at 11.00-1.00pm find out how to eat well, drink well, and age well with this free stay nourished event by Home Instead Senior Care.

Elizabeth Wolstenholme Elmy

On Tuesday 9 July at 2.00-3.00pm, find out how women really got the vote with our resident suffragette, Olive Gray. Olive will talk about Elizabeth, Cheshire's answer to Emmeline Pankhurst,  and the role in helping women to get the vote. Free; book online or at the library.

  • Book Lovers' Group - 5.30-6.30pm - monthly on the third Tuesday of every month. Refreshments available, suggested donation 50p. New members welcome
  • IT Buddy - 10.00-11.00am - weekly. Please contact the library to book a place. £2.50 for one hour
  • LEGO Club - 4.00-5.00pm - monthly on the last Tuesday of every month. Drop-in; no need to book. Suitable for ages 2-12 years. Next date is 25 June
  • Under 5s rhymetime - 11.00-11.30am - weekly in term time only. Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer
