What's New?

Saturday 22 October - Get online week

A representative from the Middlewood Partnership will be here between 10.00am - 12 noon to demonstrate how to download the NHS app which will assist you in making appointments and getting results and more. No need to book just drop in.

October half term activities

Adult supervision is required for all of the activities below and there is a children's book sale available in the junior library.

  • Tuesday 25 October - Storytime with Bookstart Bear, 10.30am, suitable for 2-6 year olds
  • Wednesday 26 October - Baby Bounce, 10.30am
  • Thursday 27 October - Rhymetime & Megabloks, 2.15pm, all ages welcome
  • Friday 28 October - Lego Club Special, 3.00 - 5.00pm, with Duplo for the little ones!
  •  Saturday 29 October - Kids Craft Club, 10.00am - 12 noon, 50p per child

If you’d like to find out how to trace your family tree online, book a 1 hour lesson and we will show you how to use Ancestry, Find My Past and other online resources on the library computers. £3.00; please contact the library to book in advance.

Home Library Service

If you love books, but find it hard to access the library, then the Home Library Service might be for you. We can choose books according to your preferences and deliver them to you at home. We will also collect and return books for you.

We can provide large print and audio books and this is a free service with no additional charges for reservations. Please contact the library for further information.

Activities at Disley Library


  • Baby Bounce - 10.30 - 11.00am - weekly. Come and enjoy our songs and rhymes especially chosen for your little ones under 12 months or not yet walking, with their carers. Free. No need to book, just drop in.


  • Rhymetime - 2.15 - 2.45pm - weekly. Come and join us for songs, rhymes, music and fun suitable for all pre-school children and their carers. Free. No need to book, just drop in. 


  • LEGO Club - 3.30  - 5.00pm - weekly. Get creative with LEGO. No need to book, just drop in. Suitable for children aged 5 and over. Duplo available for younger children.
  • Keen Cooks Book Group - 2.00 - 3.00pm - monthly on the first Friday of the month. Come along and join the tastiest book group in Disley, and discover new recipes with our friendly group of food lovers. All welcome. Next date is 7 October, but you can pop into the library to pick up the next book during September


  • Kids Craft Club - 10.00 - 12.00 noon - monthly. Crafts for all ages. Parental supervision required. 50p per craft. Next dates will be 1 and 29 October
  • Stories and Songs - 10.30 - 11.00am - monthly. Stories, rhymes and activities for pre-school children and their grown-ups. Great for active toddlers – sitting is optional!  Free; no need to book in advance. Younger and older siblings welcome. Next date will be 15 October
