Sydney Road bridge - diary of work

Work for the planned upgrade of the Sydney Road bridge started in May 2018. The preparation work we have carried out up to now is shown below. 

Site compound set up on Lime Tree Avenue and relocated the ‘Police Speed Enforcement Parking Bay’ on Lime Tree Avenue. Started strengthening the embankment along side the railway track to accommodate the new bridge.

Continued with strengthening the embankment alongside the railway track and under the bridge. Made preparations for the replacement of the Scottish Power cabling running alongside the railway tracks.

On going strengthening work at the bridge. Installed ducting for the replacement of the Scottish Power cabling running alongside the railway tracks. Prepared and removed rail gantries, which carryover head power lines for trains.
