Brook Street, Macclesfield – Footway closure
The footpath that runs next to the river Bollin will be closed from Brook Street to Waterside as the owners of the wall complete urgent repairs. Following the partial collapse of the wall, Peaks and Plains will be undertaking reconstruction works and the footpath will be reopened on the completion.
The wall is owned and maintained by Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, Ropewalks, Newton Street, Macclesfield SK11 6QJ. They will be undertaking and managing the works on site and enquiries should be sent to them by email: comms@peaksplains.org or by visiting the Peaks & Plains contact us web page.
When the work will be completed
Surveys are needed to enable the design of the new retaining wall, and this will be carried out in June 2022. Construction is planned to start in August 2022 with full completion due toward the end of the year.
