What is happening
Following works to stabilise and rebuild the foundations, we are now rebuilding the retaining wall which collapsed. Following the rebuild, we will then safely be able to build the carriageway back up and resurface the road. Works on the damaged section, following an RTC commenced w/c 28 September and the road is due to re-open under temporary traffic lights on the 16 October.
As we are working to repair the collapsed section of the carriageway along the A54 Buxton Road. We are taking the opportunity to repair the section of the A54 Buxton Road which was damaged following an overturned lorry on 25 August 2020.
Whilst the works to repair both damaged sections of the A54 Buxton Road take place, the road will remain under a full closure until 16 October with no access to cyclist, pedestrians and emergency vehicles.carriageway along the A54 Buxton Road.
