Speed limit order

Cheshire East Borough Council (various roads) (consolidation) (amendment no.2) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes to make an Order under Section 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 38, 45, 46, 51, 53, 61, 81, 82 and 84 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other enabling powers and in accordance with its duty with Section 122 of the said Act.

The effect of the proposed Order will be to:

Amend the Cheshire East Borough Council (Various Roads) (Consolidation) Order 2022 by introducing the additional speed restrictions as outlined in Schedules 1- 4 below and replacing Map Tile No’s. AC151, AD151, AE151, AF151 and adding Map Tile No’s. AB150 and AC150 in the Consolidation Order schedules.
The restrictions imposed by this proposed Order shall be in addition to and not in derogation of any restrictions or requirements imposed by any regulations made or having effect as if made under the Act or by or under any other enactment.

Schedule 1 (30 MPH Speed limit)

Street Lane, Poynton From its junction with London Road for a distance of 35 metres in an easterly direction.

Schedule 2 (40 MPH Speed limit)

B5092 London Road (north of London Road Roundabout), Poynton From Poynton Relief Road London Road Roundabout in a northerly direction to a point 109.5m north of its junction with First Avenue.
B5092 London Road, Poynton (Street Lane link) From its junction with London Road for a distance of 31 metres in a north-westerly direction.

Schedule 3 (50 MPH Speed limit)

A523 Poynton Relief Road, Poynton From Poynton Relief Road London Road Roundabout in a north-westerly direction to the borough boundary between Cheshire East Borough Council and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.

A523 Poynton Relief Road, London Road Roundabout, Poynton The whole circulatory carriageway of the roundabout.

A523 London Road (south of London Road Roundabout), Poynton From Poynton Relief Road London Road Roundabout in a southerly direction to a point 212m north of its junction with Bonis Hall Lane.
