Inspection of bridges and structures
We undertake regular inspections of all assets that we are responsible for in line with current Codes of Practice. This includes reactive inspections in circumstances such as where vehicles have collided with structures. From these inspections, we develop and prioritise a forward programme of schemes to ensure their safety and functionality.
We review, assess and monitor the capacity of our structures, placing weight restrictions on those that are deemed substandard for current highway loadings.
Bridges and structures maintenance
Our cyclic routine maintenance programme removes vegetation and debris from our structures and ensures that the drainage systems are free from leaves and other detritus.
We also deliver steady state maintenance schemes and wholescale bridge replacements, along with strengthening works to keep our bridges and structures safe and operational.
If you wish to contact us about an issue with one of our bridges or structures, report it online.
