Highway asset management in Cheshire East
The highway network is Cheshire East’s largest and most visible publically owned asset. If you travel by foot, bicycle, use public transport or a car, we all use the highway network in order to complete our journeys safely.
Asset management is a systematic approach to meeting the strategic need for the management and maintenance of highway infrastructure assets by applying the ‘right maintenance treatment at the right time’, to make best use of the Council’s highway budget.
At a local level, the highway network helps to shape the character and quality of local areas and makes an important contribution to wider authority priorities, including regeneration, social inclusion, community safety, education and health.
