Air Quality Strategy
The Council is currently developing an overarching Air Quality Strategy. The Air Quality Strategy will form one of six daughter documents of the Local Transport Plan and will be fully integrated with the Local Development Framework, thus ensuring that that air quality is addressed in a multi-disciplinary manner across Cheshire East Council and other relevant organisations.
The aims of an Air Quality Strategy are to support the achievement of the air quality objectives and to raise air quality as an issue for consideration within a wide range of local government and regional planning frameworks. This is important, as whilst working towards achievement of the air quality objectives will help reduce the risk of the most serious health effects related to pollution, there are advantages to be gained from the continual improvement of local air quality conditions.
