Community safety

Cheshire East Council delivers a wide range of services that contribute directly to making our communities safer and aims to ensure that community safety is taken into account in all aspects of service delivery.

The Community Safety Team ensures that the Council meets its statutory responsibilities under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 through promoting Community Safety and reducing the fear of crime in Cheshire East.

The Community Safety Team takes a coordinating role for the Council in working with partner agencies to develop, implement and monitor Community Safety strategies and plans, and to support and advise Elected Members and other key Council Departments in their work on such issues.
