Skills and Growth
The Skills & Growth Company was established by Cheshire East Council as a new ‘arms-length’ company in April 2016, to bring together existing skills and growth services under one structure.
Its objective is to ensure the council can deliver more for less, achieving greater innovation and benefits for businesses and residents.
The company supports businesses to:
- maximise growth
- funding and investment opportunities
- increase the availability and take-up of apprenticeships
- support people into work
- help to create jobs and stimulate economic growth and innovation
The company’s mission is: ‘Our ambition is to help others fulfil theirs.’
Over the past 2 years the company has helped create over 2,000 new jobs and a projected £176m increase in Gross Value Added to the borough; they have supported high growth businesses, large employers and inward investment enquiries to generate £43m of capital investment and £51m revenue spend.
