Covid-19 Job matching service privacy notice

This service is provided by Cheshire East Council's Supported Employment Service.

What personal information is being processed and what for

The Job Matching Service is available for Cheshire East residents who are no longer in work due to effects of the Corona virus pandemic.

People wanting to receive this service enter their details on a form.

These are very basic personal data details comprising name, email, telephone, if they have a driving licence, what kind of work they would be prepared to do and what area of Cheshire East they could work. No special category data is collected via this form.

People wanting this service also have the option of uploading their CV.

This is purely for the purpose of connecting more effectively with prospective employers.

Why we are allowed to use your information

The legal basis for processing the data is that it is in the public interest for us to respond to the outbreak of Covid-19.

The General Data Protection Regulation requires specific conditions to be met to ensure that the processing of personal data is lawful.  The relevant GDPR condition is:

  • Article 6(1)(e) – is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.  The Civil Contingency Act 2004 provides the power to the local authority to respond to an emergency.

No special category data is being processed, therefore we do not rely on any of the Article 9 conditions

Who we will share your information with

The personal data completed on the online forms will be used by the Council’s Supported Employment team in order to work out what kind of available jobs the person could be matched to. A person’s CV will be sent to a potential employer but only for the sole purpose of securing paid work.

Where we get your information from

All the data will be supplied solely by the person wishing to receive the job matching service. No other data will be obtained.

How long we will keep your personal information

This data will only be kept for the duration of the short term unemployment effects of the Corona virus pandemic. No paper records will be kept. Any electronic data will be permanently deleted.

How your information is stored

The only place where information will be stored is the Council’s Supported Employment Team’s encrypted server. Access to this server is limited to the sole use of the Council’s Supported Employment Team.

What happens if you don’t provide us with your information

If you do not provide the requested information the service cannot be provided

Will your information be used to make automated decisions

No automated decisions will be made.

Your rights
