Cheshire East Council launches Community Voices panel to listen, collaborate and shape local decisions

Cheshire East Council is inviting residents aged 18 and over from across the borough to take part in conversations about the issues that matter most to them by joining its community voices panel.
The panel acts as the gateway to a range of engagement opportunities, including online consultations and in-person community assemblies. These assemblies will bring residents together to discuss important local topics such as the council’s budget, the Local Plan, waste and recycling.
Through these opportunities, residents can share their views, hear from others in their community, and take part in open, constructive discussions that help shape council services, priorities and decisions.
The council is listening and keen to hear from a diverse range of residents, ensuring that different perspectives are reflected in the conversations and decisions that affect local communities.

on, cabinet member for communities and engagement, said: “We need to change the way Cheshire East listens to its communities - really listens. That's what Community Voices is about: a more collaborative, community-led way of shaping what we do and how we make sure that your council reflects your voice and your priorities. Your voice will help shape council priorities, services and decisions. What you say will directly inform what we do. Whether that is in person or through online surveys and consultations.
“We are committed to listening, responding and acting on what residents tell us. Better decisions happen when we talk together, and stronger, collective voices lead to better outcomes.”
Residents who join the panel will be invited to take part in future in person community assembly conversations.
