COVID-19 business toolkit

COVID-19 communications are in your hands

Your business has a key role to play if the number of COVID-19 cases increases close to your operations, or in local neighbourhoods where your employees live.

We have a range of resources to help you communicate changes in COVID-19 status to your colleagues, and explain how they can slow the spread of the disease. Together with your own polices, guidance, and support programmes, this should ensure that the message is crystal clear: 'Together we can stop the spread. It’s in our hands'

WARNING: COVID CASE ARE RISING FAST IN [TOWN]

You may have heard on the local news that there has been a rapid increase in COVID-19 case numbers in [insert town e.g. Macclesfield]. Cases in [local area to the business e.g. Hurdsfield] are particularly high, so as a trusted local business, we need to make sure we are doing all we can to slow down the spread of the disease.

NHS Test and Trace is urging everyone over the age of [insert age] who lives or works in [insert town] to:

  • Get vaccinated
  • Get tested (even if you have no symptoms and have had one or two doses of the vaccine)
  • Self-isolate if you test positive
  • Stay at home if you feel unwell to avoid passing illnesses onto work colleagues

We’d like to encourage all employees of [insert name of business] to accept the offer of a free test and/or vaccine as soon as they can. For more details check out the latest on the Cheshire East website.

In the meantime, please follow the guidelines that we have in the workplace and be extra cautious when buying goods and/or services in the local community such as sandwiches, drinks or petrol.

NEW COVID CASES AT [INSERT BUSINESS NAME]

Yesterday we had a surge in COVID-19 cases at [insert name of business]. Although those people are now self-isolating, you need to make sure you do not have or spread the disease.

Even if you haven’t been pinged by the NHS Test and Trace app, we still strongly recommend you:

• Get tested (even if you have no symptoms and have had one or two doses of the vaccine)

• Self-isolate if you test positive

• Stay at home if you feel unwell to avoid passing illnesses onto others at work

For more details on how to get a free test, check out the latest on the Cheshire East website.

COVID-19 vaccinations are still freely available on the NHS to everyone over the age of 18.

Not only can they protect you from serious disease, they also break the link between cases, hospitalisations and deaths. To find out more about the Cheshire East vaccination programme, click here.

HAVE YOU BEEN PINGED BY THE NHS TEST AND TRACE APP?

It’s vital that stay at home and self-isolate immediately you’re told to do so.The reason is simple. You might pass COVID-19 on to others. Even if you have no symptoms - and even if you have had one or both jabs.

We understand that this might be a challenge, but please try to separate yourself from others in your household. When contact tracers get in touch to find out who you have been in contact with, please be honest. They are there to help, not judge.

If you’re pinged, let us know right away. Together we can stop the spread. It’s in our hands. [Insert name]

NOT SURE HOW TO GET A COVID-19 TEST?

We want everyone at [insert business name] to stay safe and well during the pandemic. It may seem like the situation is getting better, but the disease is still circulating in the community and [insert town business is located in] is no exception.

At [insert business name] want to make it as easy as possible for you to access a test.

Your options are:

  • Take a supervised test in the community. You’ll find a full list of sites here [insert link to your community sites]
  • Pick up a free box of tests from your local pharmacy to use at home
  • Call 119 and ask for a box of tests to be delivered to your home

Don’t give up now. Keep testing and together we can stop the spread. It’s in our hands. [Insert name]
