Early Help and Community Grant Scheme
If your voluntary or community group is looking for funding, then Cheshire East Council may be able to offer the financial assistance you require. The Council is looking to support projects, which will improve the quality of life for local communities.
Please read through the application form, along with the Policy for the Allocation of Early Help and Community Grants and the application guidance notes before fully completing your application.
If you do not supply all of the information requested your application will be rendered incomplete and will not be considered.
You can either apply online or complete a word version of the application form and return it using the contact details on the form.
You can apply for start up grants and community activity - up to a maximum award of £5,000.
The Council wishes to support the continuation of community activity and the formation of new community groups to support the needs of local communities. Examples of things we are looking to fund are:
- Equipment, materials or specialist kit to help the organisation develop;
- Volunteer training courses such as food hygiene;
- Specialist coaching or teaching sessions from outside organisations;
- Contributions towards running costs, excluding salaries, for organisations that have been established for less than 6 months only;
- Publicity / advertising / promotions / establishing a new website.
To apply for an early help and community grant your group must have a constitution, safeguarding policy and bank account. If you require assistance in writing a constitution or safeguarding policy, you can contact the group development team at CVS Cheshire East. You may also find the Ten Steps to Writing a Constitution guidance and the CVS Policies and Procedures web pages helpful.
