Residents parking permits
There are currently two Resident Parking Schemes in operation, an off street scheme and an on street scheme. The Off Street scheme operates in Macclesfield and Knutsford and offers a yearly permit to park on a pay and display car park if your residence falls within a defined zone (see attached list of qualifying addresses). The On Street scheme has been introduced as in many areas it is difficult for residents to park due to long term parking by commuters, shoppers and visitors.
The purpose of the on street scheme is to stop this and allow the spaces to by used mainly for the benefit of residents. Any scheme will always be introduced with full consultation of all the relevant people including residents and local businesses.
Contract parking permits
Contract permits are available on a number of pay and display car parks across the Borough. If you use the car park every day you will make a significant saving if your purchase a quarterly/annual permit. A Parking Dispensation is a granted right to park vehicle(s) where they would not normally be able to park or for longer than the permitted time. Find out more on the parking dispensation page
Cheshire East Borough Council operate a lorry parking facility at Shaw Heath Lorry Park, Mobberley Road, Knutsford.
The annual cost for this facility is £700.00 (half yearly £425.00 or quarterly £220.00). A £30.00 deposit is required for the issue of a secure entrance key, which will be refunded on termination of the contract and return of the key to Cheshire East Borough Council.
