Coronavirus (COVID-19) help for businesses

The Council currently has the following grant schemes available to support businesses experiencing difficulties or recovering from the impacts of the Covid-19 Pandemic:

Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant

Further to the announcement on 21 December 2021 by the Chancellor, government has introduced a new grant scheme to support hospitality and leisure businesses that are experiencing difficulties because of the Omicron variant.

The new grant scheme is in the form of one-off grants of up to £6,000 per premises for businesses occupying premises with a rateable value in the hospitality and leisure sectors in England.

To make an application you will need your business rate account reference number (8 digit number starting with a 9) and also your property reference number (15 digit number starting with N) both of these can be found on your business rate demand, you will also be required to upload evidence of your bank account and occupation evidence such as utility bills for your premises.

Details of the grant and how to apply can be found on the Business Rates pages at: Coronavirus (Covid-19) help for Business Rates customers (cheshireeast.gov.uk)

Business Interruption Fund

The Business Interruption Fund is to support businesses from all sectors, including hospitality and leisure sector businesses that do not occupy premises with a rateable value, that can demonstrate they have continued to be impacted by the pandemic. On 16 December 2021, Cheshire East Council announced that we had already increased the amount of support available through this fund to a maximum of £10,000 per business. It means that those who previously applied for funding and received the maximum amount available at that time of £5,000, can now submit a further application for support.
