Recycling and Waste Disposal
Household Waste and Recycling Centres and Banks
Cheshire East are dedicated to increasing the amount of waste recycled and reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill. Although we collect an extensive range of recyclable items from your home, you can also recycle items through the many Recycling Banks or Household Waste Recycling Centres throughout Cheshire East. Dedicated charity banks for textiles, books and shoes, which you are unable to recycle in the silver bin, are at many of these sites.
Bulky Item Collection
If you have large items you no longer require, we offer a chargeable bulky collections service based on the number and size of the items to be collected. For more information on this service please visit the bulky collections page.
The council does not provide a commercial waste collection service for businesses. If you are a business, your local business listings will provide you with useful contacts and also there are several websites that may be of use. Check the business waste collections information page for more details.
Why Recycle? The Possibilities are Endless!
Recycling your waste enables the materials to be used over and over again, reducing the need to use virgin raw materials such as metals and oil. This protects the natural environment and improves the landscape as it reduces the need for quarrying, mining and logging, as well as reducing the need for landfills. Ever wondered where your recycling goes? Your recycled envelope could become part of your latest book, your glass bottles could be recycled and contain the cooking sauce you use in tonight's meal. There are a number of Recycling Bank sites in the Cheshire East area. Why not find the ones that are nearest to where you live or work?
