Recycling and bin collections

Your bins are emptied on the same day each week. Your recycling and garden bins are emptied one week and the non-recyclable waste bin on the following week on a 2 week cycle.
You can have up to 3 bins, a recycling, garden and other non-recyclable waste bin. Place your bins at the end of your property, beside the road on your collection day. Return them to your property as soon as possible after collection.
We wont collect additional household waste, garden waste or recycling, left beside your bin.
We may have missed your collection for 1 of the following reasons:
- your bin wasn’t on the kerbside collection point by 7:00am on the day of collection
- the bin lid couldn't be closed, it must be closed so the collection crew can attach the bin onto the vehicle safely for emptying
- the wrong bin was presented on the wrong day
- the bin was too heavy
- there was non-recyclable waste in the recycling bin
- we couldn’t access your property, for example, due to road works
Report a missed collection
You can report a missed bin after one working day of the missed collection, by phone or by use of the missed collection form. We will aim to respond within 5 working days.

Additional garden waste bins
We offer one free garden waste bin to all residents. However, we do realise that some households have larger gardens and would like more than one garden bin for their needs. For an annual charge of £50 we can provide you with an additional garden waste bin.
This charge is billed for the period 1 August – 31 July each year. Please note - no concession is given for joining part way through the scheme. To arrange for an additional garden waste bin to be delivered to your home, please contact us on 0300 123 5011 where your request can be processed and payment taken.
Alternatively, you can consider home composting.
We understand that larger families may need some extra space for their refuse and recycling.

Let us know if you think your bin is lost or stolen or you are a new resident and you don’t have the correct bins.

Difficulty putting out your bins
If you have difficulty moving your bins, you can be considered for an assisted collection service.

Assisted collections will happen on the next bin collection, as long as the collection isn't on the same day you applied.
