Problems with Collection
If you are having problems with your waste and recycling
collections, then please don't hesitate to get in touch with us to
discuss any issues. We have included some advice here for some
of the more common concerns.
My Bin Hasn't Been Emptied
- The bin needs to be on the kerbside collection point
by 7:00am on the day of collection
- The correct bin must be presented on the correct day
- The bin lid must be closed. If the lid is up, this will result
in a non-collection.
- The bin must not be too heavy for our operatives to move
- The bin has the correct materials in it (i.e. recyclable waste
in a recycling bin/container) and no other types of waste
present.
- The bin lid maybe frozen to the bin in extreme weather
conditions
- Road not accessible for example due to road works or parked
vehicles.

Refuse Collections
The following are some of the more common questions asked about
refuse collections:
I don't have enough room for all of my waste, can I have
another bin?
Possibly. We understand that larger families may need some extra
space for their refuse. However, before we issue another
household waste bin, we'll arrange for our Household Adviser to pay
a visit to help you make sure you're minimising as much waste as
possible and recycling everything that you can.
Complete the
Online Bin Request form for a new,
additional or replacement bin/receptacle or a bin
repair.
My bin is lost or has been stolen, what can I do?

I am having difficulty presenting my bins for collection, can I
get help?
Are you, or someone you know, having difficulty presenting their
bins for collection? Cheshire East Council can assist you with your
collections. Where possible the bins should be presented by
7:00am for collection on the morning of the collection day. If
you are unable to get the waste receptacles to the kerbside, then
we can help you.
I am a new resident and I don't have the correct bins,
what can I do?
Let us know about your situation and we'll see what we can
do.

My bin is damaged, can I have a new one?
Cheshire East is dedicated to reducing the amount of waste
produced in the area. Where possible we will repair your
bin, or issue a replacement if necessary.
