Spare Seats Information
If your application for assisted travel has been refused, and
you wish to purchase a spare seat on the school or college bus
please call 0300 123 5012.
Spare seats are offered on some home to school / college buses
provided there are no other public services on which your child
could pay a daily fare.
If you confirm that you would like to purchase a spare seat for
your child their name will be added to a waiting list. Current
spare seat holders take precedence over new applicants and Cheshire
East students take priority over those who live outside the
Borough. In many cases it will not be possible to offer anybody a
spare seat until after the term has started and we know the number
of eligible students requiring transport.
Please note students will not be permitted to travel without a
valid pass.
If a seat becomes available a letter and request for payment
will be sent to you and a pass will be posted upon receipt of
payment. Once a spare seat has been offered, it will be guaranteed
for the full academic year.
Payment can be made online at School
Transport Payments or over the telephone using your credit or
debit card by calling: 0300 123 5012.
Spare Seat charges are reviewed annually, but the charges for
the 2011/2012 academic year are:
- £265 per annum – If your child is under 16 and attending the
local (catchment) school.
- £390 per annum – If your child is under 16 and attending an
alternative school.
- £510 per annum – If your child is 16+ and attending the nearest
appropriate 6th form/college.
- £720 per annum – If your child is 16+ and attending an
alternative 6th form/college.
These charges are per child, per year. Payment can be made
termly or half-termly and renewal letters will be sent to you, to
remind you when your next payment is due.
