Wheels 2 Work
Wheels 2 Work is an innovative scheme to provide short term
transport solutions to people living or working in rural areas.
The scheme provides the short term loan of a moped to assist
people who are experiencing difficulty getting to work, training or
education.

What will you get?
- Short-term loan, of up to 6 months, of a 50cc scooter.
Your scooter is fully taxed, insured and with breakdown
cover.
- Full protective equipment including jacket, gloves, waterproof
trousers and motorcycle helmet.
- We will put you through your CBT (Compulsory Basic Training),
provide you with good safety advice and look after you along the
way!
What will you need to contribute?
- There is a contribution of £60 per month. This goes towards the
upkeep of the moped.
- You will also need to pass your CBT (Compulsory Basic Training)
but the scheme will pay for this
- You will need to fulfill the eligibility criteria (see
below).
What is CBT (Compulsory Basic Training)?
All new licence holders must take a CBT – even for a moped. New
CBTs last for a period of 2 years. The CBT course will take a whole
day, although the exact time will be dependant on the ability of
the individual.
Are you eligible?
In order to be eligible for the scheme you MUST:
- have a confirmed offer of a work, training or educational
placement
- either live or work in Cheshire East
- have no suitable public or private transport
- have at least a car provisional licence.
