Tickets, Fares and Pass Information

companies can change their fares at any time we recommend that
you check the prices with the bus operator concerned prior to
travelling.

Which Ticket?
Choosing the right ticket for your journey can
be a difficult experience. Should you buy a single ticket, day
ticket or a multi service / operator ticket? How much will the
ticket cost and where can you buy them are all frequent questions
passengers ask. The information below will help answer these and
point you in the right direction if you have any further
questions.
National Bus Pass
If you are 60 or over or are 'eligible disabled', you may be
entitled to free off-peak concessionary travel on local buses anywhere in
England.
Ticket Types
Single Journey Tickets
Valid for one journey on day of issue.
Day Return
Valid for one outward and one return journey on day of issue.
Please check with the driver that the same company operate the
return journey as this is not always the case and rival operators
tickets are not usually accepted.
Operator's Day Ticket
Usually valid on all services operated by the same bus company
for the day of issue allowing you to travel as many times as you
like.
Please contact the bus operator concerned for full details of
ticket conditions and restrictions.
Operator's Weekly, Monthly and Yearly Passes
Some bus companies provide these longer life tickets. Please
check with your driver.
4 Weekly or longer tickets
Special Tickets and Passes
There are four special tickets that are valid on some
services in Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East, which may
be a cheaper option if your journey involves more than
one company's service or mode of transport. Please use the

Cheshire Travelcard - Cheshire's award winning
smartcard.
Plusbus - combined bus

GMPTE Wayfarer Ticket
GMPTE Wayfarer - can be bought from Northwich and Macclesfield
Bus Stations and is valid on:
- Connect 88
- Arriva 130
- BakerBus 130, 391, 392 and 393
- Swans 200 and 289
- Stagecoach 360, 378
- Town & District E69
Derbyshire Wayfarer Ticket
Derbyshire Wayfarer - can be bought from Macclesfield Bus
Station.
- £8.60 for an adult (plus one child under 16)
- £4.30 for a senior citizen (60+), a child under 16, or a holder
of a Gold Card or b_line card
- £13.70 for a group of up to 2 adults and up to 3 children
