Low Floor Accessible Buses

Many bus services in Cheshire East are now operated by modern low floor accessible buses. Low floor vehicles help make journeys easier for passengers with disabilities, wheelchairs, buggies and when carrying shopping.

These buses have low floors that are level with raised kerbs to enable easy access to the vehicle. Where raised kerbs have not yet been installed or buses cannot reach the kerb some buses can 'kneel', dropping the front down to nearer the height of a standard kerb.

Passengers are advised that due to operational requirements it may sometimes be necessary to use non low floor vehicles on some or all of the journeys on a particular route. We recommend that passengers check direct with the bus operator to establish if a low floor vehicle is operating on the journey they require before travelling.

Please view the Council's Bus Service Timetable page for details of all bus services in Cheshire East. If a service is normally operated with a low floor vehicle this is listed in the table.

Bus Stops and Shelters

There are also 262 bus stops without shelters that have raised kerbs installed.
