Welcome to the Cheshire East Local Transport Plan
All Local Transport Authorities are required to produce a new
Local Transport Plan (LTP) by the end of March 2011. This will set
out a long-term strategy for travel and transport within the area
for the period 2011 to 2026.
Local Transport Strategy
Cheshire East’s Local Transport Plan 3 has undergone
consultation with the public, stakeholders and elected members and
sets out the Council’s transport strategy and policies for the next
15 years. The Final Strategy document can be accessed using the

A shortened, more concise summary of the Final Strategy document
will be uploaded here upon completion as soon as possible.
Implementation Plan 2011-2015
Cheshire East’s first Local Transport Plan (LTP) Implementation
Plan is aligned with the Government’s four year spending review
period (April 2011 to March 2015) and contains details of the
initiatives which will be delivered in order to meet the objectives
and priorities for transport set out in the 15 year LTP strategy.

Sustainability Appraisal Assessment
Incorporating: Strategic Environmental Assessment,
Health Impact Assessment, Habitats Regulations Assessment &
Equality Impact
The Local Transport Plan Sustainability
Appraisal Scoping Report (PDF, 2.34MB) is to encourage improved
integration of sustainability considerations into the preparation
and adoption of transport plans and policies.
The draft Sustainability Appraisal report of the LTP can be

Consultation on the Sustainability Appraisal report closed on
the 28th November 2010. Issues and comments raised will now be
incorporated for the final Sustainability Report produced in
conjunction with the Final LTP Strategy.
