Pass Plus
Pass Plus is an established driver training course aimed
at new drivers.
Designed with
the help
of driving instructors and insurers, the course builds on your
existing skills and knowledge, teaching you how to anticipate, plan
for and deal with all kinds of hazards and can help you become more
confident on the roads.
And on completion of Pass Plus, you will usually be entitled to
a substantial discount on your car insurance*.
The course consists of 6 on-road modules, each one taking
about an hour:
- driving in towns
- driving in all weathers
- driving on rural roads
- driving at night
- driving on dual carriageways
- driving on motorways
There's no test at the end. Instead you'll be continually
assessed as you work through each module until you complete it to a
satisfactory standard.
* You must have successfully completed all 6 modules of Pass
Plus within 12 months of passing your driving test to qualify for
an
insurance discount.
The cost to take Pass Plus will vary depending on
the rates that your chosen driving instructor charges but on
average it should cost somewhere between £120 - £150. Unfortunately
Cheshire East Council are unable to offer a discount for the
Pass Plus scheme at this time.
