Connect 2
Connect2 is a nationwide sustainable transport project which
aims to get people to make their everyday journeys by foot or
bike.
Connect2 won the The People’s £50Million Lottery Giveaway on
Wednesday 12 December 2007 after a TV series of the same name
asked for people to vote for either the Connect2 bid or three other
national bids competing against it. The huge efforts of the people
in Cheshire who voted for Sustrans’ Connect2 bid will now benefit
many, as Sustrans begin to invest in walking and cycling
UK-wide for healthy and a more sustainable future
This is an amazing achievement for Connect2 and the many local
authority and other partners with whom they will work
alongside. The process of working
with the Big Lottery Fund scheme to establish the timetable for
funding and finalising plans will begin in January.
